The Inheritance Cycle is a series of fantasy novel, written by Christopher Paolini. He wrote his first book, Eragon, when he was only 15 years old, in 2003.
Eragon, the first novel of the cycle, is the story of a young man, Eragon, who discovers a strange blue stone, which is actually a dragon egg. Eragon will name the dragon : Saphira. Then they will live fantastic adventures together, and they will have to confront to the terrible Galbatorix, who prevails the world of Alagaësia.
The second and the third novel, Eldest and Brisingr, will be published in 2006 and 2008. Christopher Paolini has announced a fourth novel, which will be the end of the cycle.
In 2006, Stefen Fangmeier produced the film of the first volume : Eragon. But this film didn't have a lot of success, so the second and third films must be cancelled.
Nowadays, Christopher Paolini is writing his fourth and last volume, which must be published in two or three years.
