The Artist is a silent movie, in black and white of Michel Hazanavicius. Hollywood 1927. George Valentin (Jean Dujardin), is a silent movie star who smiles all. The arrival of talking pictures is going to sink into oblivion. Peppy Miller (Berénice Bejo), a young showgirl, will be propelled in the firmament of stars. This film tells the story of their destinies, or how fame, pride and money can be obstacles to their romance

 The Artist has been awarded the best actor of the 64th International Film Festival of Cannes in 2011 for Jean Dujardin. It dominated the 37th edition of the Césars of French cinema by winning six awards, including the ones of the best film, best director and best actress (Berénice Bejo). But it also won more technical Césars as the best decor, best music and best photography. It is also among the favorites of the 84th edition of the Oscars film American , to be held on Sunday, February 26th with ten nominations: one for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Original Score, Best Film and Best Screenplay original.
